Mentoring

Are you aspiring to become a clinical psychologist or pursue a career in psychological research?

What is mentoring?

Clutterbuck (2004) defines a mentor by these qualities:

Manage the relationship

Encourage

Nurture

Teach

Offer mutual respect

Respond to the learner's needs

I offer mentoring sessions to share my insights, advice and experiences in these career paths. I have experience mentoring individuals from a range of backgrounds, and sessions are responsive to your needs.

Session content

Mentoring sessions may cover:

  • Exploring and reflecting on your career aspirations

  • Career-specific advice and guidance

  • Career goal-setting and development plans

  • Skill development

  • Insight into my own clinical and research experiences

Session format

All sessions are held online and typically last 50 minutes.

The frequency, duration and timing of sessions can be discussed during an initial and free of charge welcome phone/video call, in which I will ensure I am the best match for your needs. â€‹

Fees

Sessions typically cost £40.

If you consider yourself to be from a minoritised or disadvantaged background, please discuss this with me during our welcome call as I offer a sliding scale for mentoring fees.

Getting in touch

I am only able to offer mentoring sessions to a small number of applicants each year. Please do get in touch as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
